To celebrate the 911 ‘s 60th birthday in 2023, Porsche this week unveiled a new special model of the German super sports car. Named the 911 S/T, the exclusive model unites the qualities of the 911 GT3 with the Touring Package and the 911 GT3 RS, providing the perfect combination for Gearheads. To complement a package full of updates, the Stuttgart brand even added a manual transmission and a construction filled with lightweight parts. Visually, the design of the anniversary model gained some elements dedicated to the 60th anniversary, such as the writing “Porsche” on the side of the door, commemorative logo, among others. In the Heritage Design configuration – optional – the new external color is in a metallic coastal blue tone, while a number from 0 to 99 can be applied to the sports doors.
The interior also features a special finish, with seats in fabric in Classic Cognac with black stripes, another homage to Porsche heritage . Two-tone leather trim in semi-aniline compound in Black/Classic Cognac with extensive leather contouring, perforated Dinamica headliner and other elements from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur round off the package. The Porsche logo and the 911 S/T model designation on the rear of the car are in gold.
Under the hood, the model has an aspirated 4.0-liter boxer engine capable of generating 525 hp of power combined with a manual transmission with shorter gears than in the 911 GT3. In this configuration, the 911 S/T accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 300 km/h. The sports car also has a lightweight exhaust system as standard.
To make it lighter, the 911 S/T comes with a front hood, roof, front fenders and doors made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The same applies to the roll cage, rear axle stabilizer bar and rear axle struts. Porsche also equips the anniversary model with magnesium wheels, a carbon-ceramic composite (PCCB) brake system, a lithium-ion starter battery and lightweight glass, all standard. With all the updates, the model is the lightest of the 992 generation.
The new Porsche 911 S/T will be offered in Brazil on a pre-sales basis in the second half of 2023, with deliveries scheduled for 2024. The manufacturer highlights that the suggested public price will be communicated in the future.
